Week 9 - Web 2.0

I read the exercises and listened to the videos. As far as being all hype, I can't decide, even the experts cant' seem to agree on that.

Web 2.0 was quite a learning experience. I think the best thing I took away at the end was what a 'mash-up' was! Quite interesting.

I think working in a library calls for training such as this. It's important to keep up with the times in our jobs, at least we should be familiar with it all even if we do not use it ourselves.

Thanks, Cindy, for making it all so easy!!

Week 9 - Learning 2.0 Experience

My favorite exercise during this learning program was adding widgets! It was fun and my co-workers had fun also.

I didn't think I would be able to successfully complete this program when I started, I was apprenhesive about doing it, but I found out it was much easier than I thought and I learned a lot, but it will be another thing to retain the information. I believe I will keep my blog, and maybe even get my granddaughter to have one so we can exchange information! (I know she will like the widgets!).

Week 8 - Social Networking

I read about Facebook and LinkedIn and watched both videos of Facebook and YouTube.

It was very interesting, easy and enjoyable.
I could not see how it could help me with my daily work here at the library, but I know a lot of people would enjoy the social networking and enjoyable videos.

I could see how LinkedIn could be helpful in networking for a lot of people and perhaps in the future I could use it. I used to have a business and this would have been helpful to meet the people who could help or give ideas to grow my business.

Week 7 - Widgets & Gadgets

This week I read about adding widegets to your blog and watched 2 videos about adding widegets and gadgets to a blog.
I added a purple llama widget to my blog, it was easy to learn and fun to find widgets.
This was easy and fun. I also got into the spirit and added a Christmas count down calendar, then a more serious wideget - a fiber art site.
I plan to go back and browse for gadgets.
